Department of Lifelong Learning and Extension (DLLE)

Introduction:
The Department of Lifelong Learning and Extension (DLLE) is a statutory body established in our college in 2018 with the vision of promoting social responsibility, community engagement, and lifelong learning among students. DLLE aims to develop students into socially aware and responsible citizens by involving them in various extension activities that address important social issues. The department provides a platform for students and teachers to participate in social surveys, awareness campaigns, donation drives, street plays, and seminars, fostering a culture of learning beyond the classroom.
Objective:
The primary objective of the DLLE is to in still a strong sense of social commitment, civic responsibility, and community awareness among students by engaging them in meaningful extension activities that contribute to the welfare of society and promote knowledge-based development.
Functions:

  1. Social Survey Activities:
    Conduct surveys on relevant social topics, such as the “Status of Women,” and “Environment Education Project”  to promote research, create awareness, and contribute to knowledge-based societal development.
  2. Awareness Campaigns:
    Organize activities like street plays and distribution of pamphlets to spread awareness on social issues such as gender equality, self-defense, health, environment, and social justice.
  3. Donation Drives:
    Conduct “Donation Drives” and other social service activities to collect and distribute essential goods to the underprivileged and needy members of society.
  4. Self-Defense Awareness:
    Promote self-defense awareness among students by conducting workshops, distributing informative pamphlets, and arranging expert demonstrations.
  5. Seminars and Workshops:
    Facilitate participation of both students and teachers in seminars, workshops, and conferences to broaden their understanding of social, educational, and developmental issues.
  6. Community Engagement:
    Encourage active participation of students in social activities that contribute to the welfare of local communities and promote social harmony.
  7. Documentation and Reporting:
    Maintain proper records of all DLLE activities, including survey reports, photographs, participation certificates, and reports of donation drives for academic and auditing purposes.
  8. Promote Lifelong Learning:
    Motivate students to continue their learning beyond formal education by participating in extension activities that encourage critical thinking, social awareness, and civic responsibility.
