Committe
Introduction:
The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit was established in our college in 2011 with the aim of fostering social responsibility and community service among students. Over the past decade, our NSS unit has actively participated in a wide range of social and community development activities and has been recognized with the prestigious “Best NSS Unit” and “Best Program Officer Award” (Academic Year 2015-16). The NSS unit motivates students to volunteer in health awareness programs, blood donation camps, street plays on social issues, environment-friendly drives (like making paper bags), and road safety rallies. Our NSS unit is privileged to have adopted the village Uchavali (Saphale, Palghar), where students participate in residential camps and assist villagers in various development activities. As per the University of Mumbai ordinance No. O.229, students who complete 120 hours of NSS work in a year are awarded 10 marks of grace in the Even Semester.
Objective:
The main objective of the NSS is to develop the personality of students through community service, instill a sense of social commitment, and create awareness of societal challenges. The program aims to promote civic responsibility, leadership qualities, and a spirit of voluntary service among students, encouraging them to work for the welfare of society.
